Leadership, a word that is on the tongue of every Entrepreneur walking the face of the planet.

Funny thing is, not many of them understand or know what true leadership is. If you listen carefully you will hear any host of different advice flying around like people are quoting the Gospel. Be very careful what you take to heart and apply in your leadership model.

Leadership does not have to be complicated,

but most will make it that way. Most people think that good Leadership has a complicated road map that unless followed to a “T”, one will not reach the desired destination. It is probable that you have felt this way yourself. I understand this as I have been in those shoes as well.

Along the journey to good leadership I encountered many people that I looked up to or wanted desperately to be like. That my friends, was my first mistake. You see, it is only after you have lived and traveled cultivating your mindset that you know what real Leadership looks like. I know that sounds really funny, possibly even sad, but it is the truest thing I have ever learned.

I wanted desperately to be known as having GREAT leadership. Why? Well for many reasons however that is another story. The biggest reason for me was because I saw leadership as an explosive avenue to help others. Helping others is my highest priority, my greatest mission.

I went to many meetings, traveled many miles, followed many leaders on my quest to great leadership. I tried everything I could. I thought I did every thing right. I implemented everything that I saw and learned. I polished my smile, changed my attire, started holding calls and meetings myself. I was doing everything just like every one else and yet……I did not have great leadership.

Why was it that people, that I believed to be less smart and less advantaged, were killing leadership and yet every day was a struggle for me? What was I doing wrong? How could I be a great leader and have great leadership?

Needless to say I became very disenchanted and  frustrated. I began to go through all the doubts and failures that I now know all great leadership goes through. It was really bad at points and I really had a bad time for a long time personally because I could not seem to obtain the one thing that I so desperately desired.

After some time of disappointment, I shifted my focus to other areas of my business and personal development. I began to learn other things and expand my expertise in other areas, always thinking in the back of my mind, I want to have great leadership! Time went by in what now seems like weeks and minutes, but in reality it was years. Never the less the time went by.

One morning I woke up to the phone ringing and it was a fellow business partner. This particular morning they needed to discuss some business and some plans on changing the way they were running their business. So why were they calling me? I had no clue……

Out of no where, I had entered into great leadership and there was no big announcement, no party, no cup cake with a candle. Just a phone call with plans of changing the way a business runs and my opinion and expertise were needed to make it happen. I was being offered partnership. WOW, what a feeling.

The lesson here is Don’t Do This! Leadership is not something that you can copy someone else on, it is something that you grow into, just being yourself!!!!!

Just being yourself! W O W!    That is amazing……I missed so many years I could have been helping others because I was to busy being in my own way!!! Learn from my experience, don’t waste time trying to be like anyone else, just be you and never QUIT!

Think About That For A Minute…

Why Would You Quit?

Quit? ….Never!

This post is going to be a little out of my normal writing. I will ask you now to just read with an open mind and know that this is something that I had to write and get out! If you ever thought you might quit, read on!

This is a great World we live in. Time comes and goes, really at our own pace, we set the pace for our lives. We can do anything we set our minds to do, so why then do we have so many people quit? That is because it is easier than sticking through the hard stuff and pushing past the things we do not know how to do!

NEVER QUIT!!!!!

See in an age of technology and tools that have made things so much faster, IE. microwave, T1 Internet, hot spots etc., we want everything to happen at lightening speed! It has been my experience as a mentor and a coach as well as a student myself, not everything comes that easy. Let us look closely at some things that make people quit.

When we get into a business venture, we are excited and ready to go; even though we do not know what we are ready to do. This is commonly referred to as ignorance on fire! Now pausing for a minute, this is natural. We believe that we can have whatever level of success that the people we have met in the business have, just signing up and saying I will do this. ROFL…..How many times have I seen this? I have been a coach and mentor now for over 16 years.  I don’t want you to get mad, but that is not how it works.

Later, after some time of frustration, you get some advice from people in your business. They instruct you to take some company training, recommend some books on self development, maybe even a course they have had great experiences with. You do some of it and again you think, I am going to be successful now. LOL….Not so my friend. There is much prep that goes into being successful. Some times this prep is a year, sometimes it is a life time.

You must have a vision of quit in a circle with a line drawn through it!

What sets the successful apart from the non-successful is the word QUIT! This word should not be in your vocabulary. Do you realize that your vocabulary is part of what limits you? That is a true statement. It is as true as anything you have ever heard. If Quit is in your vocabulary, then you are setting yourself up for….failure!

In The English Vocabulary. Why?

If – whats in a word?

Having been in this business for many years now,I believe that I qualify as an expert in this area.  I have heard all kinds of reasons for people giving up on their dreams. Let me tell you people get really creative too! They have more reasons and excuses than carter has little carter pills, as my grandmother would say. IF, seems to be the most common denominator in the equation. Let’s look closer at the word “if” and what is behind it!

Most people want more out of life than they currently have. They know that they deserve more and that it is there for their taking, they just have to reach out and grab it.  They want success, big houses, fancy cars, a huge bank account etc.  Funny thing is, that is where it stops for most. With the want. Most people will pay for education and guidance that they will never use. Most people will join businesses or start businesses, because they think they can reach their goals. Oddly, they never do anything past joining, or very little after that.

I have observed many of these people over the years as a coach and mentor and I have tried to figure out why this is. The conclusion is so scary that I am sure it is why more people do not discuss it openly.

I know before I reveal the observations that it will rub alot of people the wrong way, but it is truthful and that is what is important.

IF

Let’s start with “IF”. IF my wife/husband would just tell her/his friends about this, I know it would take off. IF there were other people close by here that I could work with, I know it would take off. IF I knew where to find the people that want this, I know it would take off. IF there were more people that had heard about the products, I know it would take off. IF I knew more about the product/service, I kn ow it would take off. IF I had more time to work this, I know it would take off. IF I knew more people, I know it would take off. IF I could be more like you, I know it would take off. If, If, IF!

Now lets look at what “IF”. What “IF” no one wants to listen to me? What “IF” the company changes on me? What “IF” I spend this money to join and no one joins with me? What “IF” my family and friends think I have joined a pyramid scheme? What “IF” I can’t do it? What “IF” I sponsor people, what will I do with them? What “IF” I have to work more hours at my JOB? What “IF”?

As shown here, this “IF” word is extremely dangerous and scary. I believe it to be the scariest word in our language, bar none! I am as serious as I have ever been in my life. Why must people allow this word to steal the dreams and the things that are rightfully theirs? Easy…because they have been taught that is OK.

What can you do to change this? Well when you see or hear the word “IF” you must automatically think “Imagine Fearlessness”. When we Imagine Fearlessness, we do not accept defeat as an option. There is no doubt! (That is an amazing statement! Really think about that one and let it sink in for a few minutes.)

Remember too, life. There is no life with “IF” in the way! Don’t live in fear live life to the fullest!!!!

Who’s talking about you and what are they saying?

I talk with my team on a daily basis and something that has come up more frequently lately is the fact that people are being talked about. LOL….LOL…..I know that makes many people uncomfortable. I am hearing things like…look who’s talking about you/me. I find this a little funny, find out why below.

If you are in any type of business, you want the world talking about you. It is very important that people are talking about you and that goes against what we feel is comfortable. We associate people talking about us, in a bad manner. This is however not the case. Remember that when people are talking about you, whether good or bad it is attracting attention in your direction. Of course it far better if what they say is good, but do not be discouraged if they are talking about you in a negative way. Celebrity, who is one and why?

The world we live in is an ever changing place, that is one thing for certain. As a small child I remember the world be a huge place, full of mystery and wonder. As I have grown, the world has gotten smaller and smaller. In fact I have become a celebrity. That’s right a celebrity! You might just be one too!

Let’s face it, I am not the only one that sees this. Remember back, remember when you would go somewhere and it felt as if it took an eternity to get there. You had to get in the car, bus, train, or plane to get there. LOL….I know sounds funny now, huh? A celebrity has no boundaries and the web has allowed a whole new way to travel.

Celebrity – Who Me? Yes YOU!

Now, if we want to go somewhere, well…..it is as close as the nearest Internet connection or wifi spot. I mean, recently I have gone places on my phone that my parents have only ever dreamed of going, the cool thing is I never left my seat.

So what does all this mean? Where does all this fit in society? Funny thing is, it has made our world so much SMALLER. That’s right, smaller. This has made being a celebrity much easier and achievable.

As a child, I would watch TV and see a celebrity and think wow….how cool would it be to met that person? Now I see someone that I like or want to meet and I simply friend them in social media! HUMMM all this happened in my short lifetime.

So, if our world has gotten smaller, then the rules of life have changed as well. It used to be that the only people that people had as role models where the people that they could see form a distance. This created an illusion of status for that person. So people would look up to them and follow their every move, any way they could.

Now if you are on the Internet, you too, are a celebrity! That’s right…YOU! Let that sink in a minute.How is that? Well, you have people following you, just like the celebrities of our childhood that we followed and so many others did before us.

Are you a good example? Are you a positive role model? This is serious stuff!!! Really…you have to stop and think about every thing you write, say and do. It all has the ability with the Internet, to reach others at the speed of light!

You never know who is looking at you. The dynamics of the world have changed. If you are online, then you have a responsibility to set a good example. A good rule of thumb, If you would wouldn’t want your Grandma to see it or hear it, don’t do it!

The net seems like a huge, vast obis. In reality my friends it is a very small place and it doesn’t take long for you to ruin your status with others. Be careful and  be real. Make sure that you set the example for others that you would want set for your children.

What do we do?

The unstoppable truth is….

Turn your TV on, listen to your radio, surf the web, the unstoppable truth is everywhere!   We have been running from it for a long time now. What do we do about it now? Where do we go from here to fix the damage that has been done?

Whether you want to admit it,… or not, the unstoppable truth is, we have ignored this and set it on the back burner for as long as we can. No amount of fluffing or running will get us away from the inevitable now. The truth has arrived.

More than ever, it is evident everywhere we look and turn. The nation is growing, not only is

it growing, it has grown to an alarming size! Our children are predicted to die early in life. Life expectancy is decreasing drastically. The most important thing about this is,… we can stop it! Why are we allowing this epidemic to continue to progress, instead of stopping it dead in its tracks? We can do something about this unstoppable truth!

This is a question I ask myself continuously. I also search for answers like others, and what I find is, that we are too lazy to stop it. We have grown accustomed to everything being fast and simple. Our food is coming from sources and places that don’t care about our health only our dollars. Our lives get faster and faster paced and our planning in our nutrition gets less and less.

How do we fight this unstoppable truth? How do we reverse this plague on our nation and generations to come?

Well after much deliberation over this,  I have concluded that the only answer is education. So you are asking, Where do we start? Well the very first place to start is with ourselves. THAT is right… with ourselves!

We have to get educated, study and implement everything we learn. The future is in our hands, our children,  grandchildren and children not even born yet are depending on us.

I can’t do it…why do people say this?

This one is sure to make a few people mad for sure, you know that really is OK with me, because someone told me I can’t do it. But make sure whether you get mad or not that you read through to the end so you can find out WHY people can’t.

I told you I can’t do it…..

I can’t exercise, I can’t clean, I can’t eat, I can’t stop eating, I can’t do meetings, I can’t talk to people, I can’t help someone, I can’t teach, I can’t learn, I can’t speak in large groups, I can’t sell, I can’t tell, I can’t find people, I can’t build a list, I can’t sit still, I can’t read, I can’t pay for that, I can’t save money, I can’t drive, I can’t walk, I can’t do push ups, I can’t do sit ups, I can’t take vitamins, I can’t find time! I can’t, I CAN’T,….I CAN’T!!!!

See … the truth is not; I CAN”T do it, is more of I DON’T want to! That’s right!…You don’t want to! I used to be that person that said “I can’t do it”!… NO MORE!!!!!! That person died a long time ago, I CAN do anything that I want to do.

That said,… there are still things that I don’t want to do, but I don’t lie to myself or others and say “I can’t do it”. You have to make the decision in your own life, are you a lier? … Or do you really not want to do something? See we say “I can’t” …when the going gets tough. Maybe something we thought would be easy gets hard or a couple people tell us we can’t do something. That allows us to lie to ourselves as well as them. Rebuke that mentality NOW!

Stop saying  I CAN’T do it with me today! Together we will win.

Network marketing failure is high however network marketing is an awesome opportunity for the average person to make a great living for themselves. Why then, is there so much network marketing failure and what is the largest cause?

There are many opinions on the causes for network marketing failure.You can ask these questions to many people and I promise you, you will get many different answers. Some will be accurate, some will be opinions, some will be based on false information.   Today we will get you an answer that is not only accurate but backed up by years of research and data collection.

For many years I have been in the network marketing industry. In the beginning I did not understand the model and how it worked, I was headed for network marketing failure for sure but like anything else, with practice and guidance I was able to accomplish some degree of success.

As the years went by I learned that network marketing failure is NOT in the network marketing. …WOW, Did I just say that? ..I sure did! Network marketing is a great, if not the greatest business model in the world. Almost every business model out there, if you examine the structure has a network marketing back bone. Look at the Government, Postal service, Bread and cookie companies etc. So why do so many fail? Why then, is there so much network marketing failure?

After many years of experience in this industry, I can tell you EXACTLY why so many fail. …They fail because of themselves!!!! Themselves? Yes, themselves. Really?? ..How dare I?? Well simply put,  it is the truth.

The truth of the matter is that people in general get involved in Network Marketing because they see it as an easy way to create cash flow. Thus adding to the high ranking numbers of network marketing failure. They think they can join some business model and magically people will start throwing money at them with no effort on their part. In fact the majority of these people will not even tell anyone they joined these businesses and if they do, then they never ask for people to support them in their business, or to buy their products. (This would be like opening a McDonalds and never unlocking the door)  They also join with the idea that they don’t have to work or treat the business model like a business. Network marketing is a business! You have to treat it like one! If you do not, it will not work, I promise you that you too will be included in that network marketing failure number.

So now tell me….. who is failing? The business? Or the people? I tell you it is the people every single time! If you came here to get a fluffy answer, well you are in the wrong place. I believe in shooting it to you straight and if I stepped on your toes, well I am not apologizing! Stop trying to blame everything on someone or something else and wear that shoes! You are your own problem!!

Get over yourself!

Stop right now and get over yourself!!! Nearly every day there is someone  that thinks they can do everything all by themselves. That may even be you right now. Rest assured we have all been there. We have all thought we were superman.

In the many years in this industry, it never ceases to amaze me how many people lead with their ego, instead of their brains. Just get over yourself already! I know, I know,…it should be easier than just telling people to check the ego at the door, but it never seems to work.

Check your ego at the door and get over yourself!

Mostly what happens is people start a business, or join a business, and they are all about what they “know”. Well guess what? It isn’t about what you know. It is more about what you don’t know.

Their businesses get off to a bad start or they find themselves taking a nose dive like a plane with no engine because they have an ego. Get over yourself,  put that ego to bed! Extend the hand out to someone that can help you and is willing to help you change things!! There are many people out there that will help you and guide you on your journey, if you just ask.

Get over yourself, stop worrying about what people will think because you ask a question or ask for help. I promise you, if you are failing and trying to keep a happy face, they are already talking about you, and worst yet, it isn’t good.

Learn to be humble. Ask for help. Get over yourself and let people guide you if they want to, that means they see something in you worth helping. It is not charity to be helped, it is a blessing that someone sees enough in you to spend their time with you!
